  • MiddlePen Plantation or Donald Bruce House

This house was built in 1735 by John Fisher. It was used as headquarters by Governor John Rutledge and Commander Rowdon. The house was later sold to Benjamin Simmons around the mid 19th century before the Civil War. After this, the house was named MiddlePen Plantation due to its proximity to a plantation site.
