The Englewood Cliffs, or Englefield Cliffs as it is commonly known as, is a town in Bergen County, NJ, United States. The borough of Englewood is located on the southern shore of Manhattan Island, just south of Fort Lee, NJ. It has a population of less than twenty thousand people, including those that live in nearby communities such as Jersey City and Cherry Hill. It is also a popular tourist destination. The Englewood Cliffs was built by the Dutch in the 16th century. It was a place where they could shelter their crops, as well as for a place to grow crops that would be sold at a higher price than the crops that were grown in the area. Today the town is one of the oldest and remains to this day a thriving community. There are also a number of historical sites within the city, and there are also the historic homes that have been placed within the town. Today there is a large park within the Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey town. This park is known as the Englefield Park. It is home to an amusement park that features roller coasters, merry-go-rounds, miniature golf, karts, giant slides and other activities. It is also known to have numerous gardens, waterfalls, lakes and rivers. The park is also one of the oldest in New Jersey.
